Everyday Wonders
2021

This project explores the ways in which the medium of photography can offer viewers an enriching opportunity to truly appreciate and engage with the various extraordinary everyday events which occur, and which are, unfortunately, often taken for granted. Therefore, this work attempts to refresh viewers’ ways of seeing such everyday wonders as the people and colossal structures of buildings which often go unnoticed as they are passed by in public spaces.

To achieve this, I experimented with a combination of both digital and analogue processes, and I explored elements such as camera angles, composition, pinhole photography, the use of everyday materials and lighting, everyday settings, simulating street photography, colour and motion blur.

This project also explores the capabilities and limitations of staged photographs and unplanned images.
